Flood 2008

Julie and I took off with the kids to Pocahontas for spring break. If you watch Fox News, Good Morning America, or The Weather Channel you might have seen our small town. The Black River completely flooded east and north Pocahontas. It was like nothing I've ever seen. We couldn't go up hwy. 67 into town because it was closed. So, we went around through a different town and had no problems. By Wednesday the water had receded and was off the highway. Dad gave us a tour of the flooded areas and farmland. It was crazy! I tried to put some pictures on here, but I couldn't get them to work. I've got more pictures from the zoo, Easter, and in Pocahontas, too. I'll put them on here soon. Back to school tomorrow! The boys really fought a lot this week. I am going to have to come up with something for them to do to keep me sane during the summer. Any ideas?

33 years old and 1 month

Brylee was officially one month old on Tuesday and I officially turned 33 yesterday. Julie and I tried to get the babies pictures taken the other day and it was awful! Brylee was asleep, but when I got her out of the car seat she started crying and didn't stop. Needless to say, we didn't get any good pictures of her. Julie order 2 good poses of Jarett though. On Tuesday Brylee had a long awake and in a good mood time, so I took some pictures myself. We finally lost the umbilical cord on Sunday. Brylee took her first real bath on Monday. She loved it. I was so thankful because she was not a big fan of the sponge bath.
She loved the bath but hated being taken out of it.
Also, she has thrush. YUCK! She's on a medicine that the doctor said to put 1 drop of between her cheek and gum. That is easier said than done. So, as long as it gets in her mouth I count it a success! It is already looking better after 2 days on the meds.
As I look back on my 32nd year of life, a lot has happened. Kent's new job and leaving youth ministry, me back in the schools for awhile, new baby, and big boys getting even bigger! God is faithful and He has blessed me abundantly. For that I am so thankful and I am looking forward to what He has in store for me this year.

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay!!!!!!! We have snow! Yesterday it snowed for several hours giving us about 3 inches of snow. The boys were in heaven. Derek's school let out at noon, so they had a full afternoon of playing outside.
Julie and Jarett on their first day in El Dorado. I told her not to get used to this weather. The last time we had a few inches of snow was when Austin was 5 days old!!
Brylee was not too thrilled to be out in the snow, but she had no choice :) Look at that poor, precious baby.
This picture is from last Sunday. Pretty in pink!

Sleep!

I actually got to dream last night! Brylee had her best night of her life (all 23 days of it). She went to bed around 10:30 and stayed in her bassinet until 3:30 a.m. YAY! I fed her and we were back asleep around 4:15 and she stayed in her bed until 6:45 a.m. It feels good to have slept for consecutive hours :) It seems that everyone of her 23 nights have been different. So, my hopes are not up for tonight. I think church last night might have worn her out, so now let's hope moving in Jason and Julie will make her tired for tonight.

The Bakers are on their way today. Please pray for safe travel. Jason's driving the moving truck and pulling their car. Julie's driving Jason's old truck with the motorcycle in the back and pulling a small trailer and with a 3 1/2 month old in the truck with her!!!!! Bless her heart!

I love Saturdays!

Yesterday, Kent saw in the Democrat-Gazette that Ryan Newman's car was going to be in Arkadelphia today. Seeing that we had nothing on the calendar planned, we picked up this morning and headed north. It was a 1 1/2 hour drive to see "the car". We met up with Kent's folks for lunch and some lovin' on the baby time. Here are a few pics from the day.

I'm also throwing in some sweet pictures of Brylee sleeping. I LOVE this girl!
